FAQs

Straight answers to the questions that come up before starting therapy.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. I can supply a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many clients use HSA or FSA funds to cover sessions.

Is therapy only virtual?

Most sessions are held via secure telehealth video. This keeps things simple and consistent whether you are at home, at the office, or traveling. However there is limited in-person availability.

Which states do you serve?

I am licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC, and hold PSYPACT authority. That means I can see clients virtually in all PSYPACT-participating states.

Is therapy right for me?

If you are exhausted by your own mind, or just feel like you're ready for a change, therapy is worth exploring. You do not need a crisis to benefit from having a skilled professional in your corner.

I'm functioning fine. Would I even benefit from therapy?

Yes, and you're not the only one who wonders. It's a question I hear a lot from the people I work with. Doing well and struggling privately aren't opposites. They often happen at the same time. When everything on the outside looks fine, it's easy for what's going on underneath to go unnoticed, even by you. You don't have to be falling apart to deserve help.

Do you work with Military familes?

I am officially recognized as a Certified TRICARE Provider (Authorized Non-Network). Because this is a private pay practice, payment is due at the time of your session. However, because of my certified status, TRICARE may reimburse you for a significant portion of your out-of-pocket costs. I will gladly provide you with a comprehensive Superbill (an itemized receipt with all necessary clinical and diagnostic codes) that you can easily submit directly to TRICARE for reimbursement according to your plan's non-network benefits.

How long does treatment take?

It depends on your goals and the issues we are working on. Some people find relief in a few months. Others benefit from longer-term work. We will check in regularly about progress and adjust as needed.
